Values and Ethos
Hello, I’m Stephen Bunney — yoga teacher, executive coach, Pilates instructor, breathwork coach, father, military senior officer, and founder of Warrior Wellness.
I believe humans are resilient, strong, and capable. Given the right skills, we can learn to handle the stress life gives us and adapt. That belief is at the heart of everything I do.
I spent over a decade as a senior officer in the Irish Defence Forces, developing a deep understanding of leadership, resilience, and what it takes to perform under pressure. Along the way, I discovered yoga — and it changed everything.
I started practising in 2015 after a lower back injury. What began as rehab became a lifestyle. The physical benefits drew me in, but the impact on my mental health, sleep, confidence, and overall wellbeing kept me coming back. I’ve been moving pain-free ever since — and I want the same for you.
I’ve since trained in multiple yoga styles, advanced breathwork (Oxygen Advantage™), Pilates, Functional Range Conditioning, and executive coaching. I founded Warrior Wellness, built and ran a successful yoga studio in Kilcullen for two years, and sold it to focus on family. I’ve taught in studios, corporate boardrooms, festival fields, and everywhere in between.
My approach is simple: meet people where they are. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned practitioner, I’ll help you find what works for you. No ego, no pretence — just honest, accessible wellness that actually fits into your life, with a bit of craic along the way.
I’m now open to collaboration. I’m passionate about mentoring newly qualified teachers, supporting students on their journey to becoming instructors, and working with anyone who wants to grow in this space.
At the moment, or in the near future, I’ll be offering coaching (individual and team), yoga (weekly classes, retreats, CPD/teacher training), breathwork, Pilates, and corporate programmes. I’m also open to bespoke projects — if you have something in mind, get in touch and let’s chat.
Why practice yoga?
Community
Yoga has this amazing ability to connect people. It brings like minded people together and can create life long bonds, creating a shared community that promotes growth, shared experience and healing.
Physical
Practicing yoga can have huge positive impacts on your life, helping you to move freely. It can help to improve strength, balance, flexibility, mobility and increase both energy levels and mood.
Mental
Numerous studies have shown that yoga also benefits your mental health, reducing stress levels, improving quality of sleep. It promotes 'me' time, allowing you to connect breath and body to find a certain calm after (or before) a long day
Do you want to practice with me?
One of the beauties of yoga, Pilates, and coaching is that it’s for everyone. If you’ve scrolled Instagram and seen people twisted into crazy shapes calling it yoga — fair play to them, but that’s not what the true essence is about.
I operate an all-inclusive policy. Show up however you are. Wear whatever you want. Whatever your ability, you’ll be met with professionalism, compassion, and care. A safe space. Attention to detail. Nurturing guidance.
Some sessions will challenge you. Some will push your boundaries. Some are purely about switching off and letting your stress melt away — even if only for a few hours.
Yoga, Pilates, and coaching are deeply individual. Everyone has different styles, preferences, and needs. It comes down to connection, trust, and finding what clicks for you.
Have a look around, see if my approach resonates, and if it does — give it a go. If we’re a good fit, brilliant. If not, no problem at all — I’m happy to point you towards someone who might suit you better.
Any questions, just reach out.

What are other people saying?
I cannot recommend steves classes highly enough. As a newbie to yoga i was quite apprehensive and nervous. But steves friendly manner puts you at ease instantly. There is no two classes alike. Each class has a different theme and it keeps it very interesting, challenging to your own ability and you will always learn something new. Steve will also show you different variations of a pose so you can suit your personal ability. Steve as a teacher is extremely approachable, attentive and has the ability to make a class feel like a one to one. The energy of his classes is deadly and uplifting. It incorporates poses, breathing techniques and meditation. You will not leave the class without feeling like you've done a workout, relaxed and refreshed.

I’ve only done three of Steve’s classes on a Friday morning & am a total yoga beginner. I never thought I’d be looking forward to the alarm going off at 6am in the morning but the classes are just so incredibly refreshing, relaxing and challenging all at the same time. Each class is something new and I can feel myself improving already. I feel amazing after each class. Steve creates such a nice vibe.. I would highly recommend.

I had the pleasure of doing a yoga immersion in the Moat Theatre in November & today a mini yoga retreat in Aluna with Stephen from Warrior Yoga Ire. For both, his attention to detail & care in the set up of the classes, from start to finish, including the booking process is second to none. Stephen creates a welcoming & warm space. The flows within the session are perfectly prepared & balanced. I would highly recommend him to everyone for both classes & the longer sessions. Thank you.
